Saudi Arabia issues licenses for two music training institutes

His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Culture, announced that the first two licenses for music institutes in the Kingdom have been issued. The International Music Training Center and the Music House Institute for Training – two specialized music institutes that provide training and  mentoring – were granted licenses.The licenses are part of the project to establish specialized arts and culture training institutes by the Ministry of Culture. The ministry is working, in cooperation with Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) and the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, to empower and support Saudi talent by developing cultural and artistic capabilities and creating educational and training opportunities across creative disciplines.The Ministry also announced the procedures to submit applications to obtain a license for cultural and art institute. Cultural institutes and training centers wishing to offer training programs, and individuals looking to practice cultural and artistic activities can apply for licences through an electronic platform currently being developed by the Ministry. The platform will be ready to receive these requests after three months.The online platform provides individuals the ability to apply for various licenses across a range of artistic and cultural disciplines, including theater, music, literature, publishing and translation, and museums. The platform enables those interested in theater to obtain licenses to perform, while those in the music industry have three licenses available to them: playing, musical acoustics and music production. Literature, Publishing and Translation currently have two licences: the literary agency activity license, and the literary agent license. For museum conservation, a license has been allocated for an expert to take care of museum collections.Specific licences will enable the establishment of institutes or training centers in the sectors of music, visual arts, theater, performing arts, fashion, culinary arts, museums, heritage, film, design, architecture, literature, translation, archaeology, and handicrafts. This is a project between the Ministry of Culture and  the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation in the Kingdom, with the objective of upskilling  culture and arts sectors to promote culture as part of Saudi Vision 2030.
